The Cocoa Tower of Pette, in the centre of the village of Wormerveer. One of most beautiful buildings in the Zaan area.  »

This elegant art deco damsel narrowly escaped from being stripped and demolished. Just in time the housing association Woonmij Zaanstad (now combined with Saenwonen to Parteon) intervened. The Cocoa Tower (from 1916) and the adjacent chocolate factory (1919) were carefully restored and refitted for new purposes. Now it houses offices and reception rooms. A Pearl of the Zaan that receives international attention.
