Maison d'Essence

The factory of Polak en Schwarz dates from 1930 and produced artificial odours and flavours. The building, near Zaandam's railway station, is clearly influenced by the Modern Architecture. Purchased by housing corporation ZVH, it has been tastefully renovated and converted to 22 attractive apartments ('lofts').
